Grindelia Grindelia camporum
The dried leaves and flowering tops are antiasthmatic, anti-inflammatory, antispasmodic, expectorant and sedative. The principal use of this herb is in the treatment of bronchial catarrh, especially when there is an asthmatic tendency, it is also used to treat whooping cough and cystitis.
It is also thought that Grindelia desensitizes the nerve endings in the bronchial tubes and slows the heart rate, making it easier to breathe. This herb is used as a treatment for bronchitis, emphysema, whooping cough, hay fever, and cystitis. Externally, it is used to help speed the healing of skin irritation and burns.
